I took a number of classes from Brigham Young University in their History Department. The classes were taught by professors at the University and were in every way university level courses. I found the classes to be immensely useful in learning the fundamentals of family history. From the BYU site, here is a list of links to educational materials and classes online:

- Not all of these sites will work on all types of computers with all types of operating systems. I have some difficulty opening them with my iMac. But, by and large this list is very helpful. If I were going to start with one link, I would go to the Center for Family History and Genealogy at BYU and go through their Religion 261, Online lessons.
Nice article , thanks for the list of sites to check out. Many of these are new to me so it will be interesting to see what is available. (If you don't have time to do it right, you don't have time to do it.) You are so right!
