Google to change Maps interface

Next week Google may launch a major interface overhaul to its Google Maps program. The new design is said to include everything from the map colors to the text formats. The Navigation elements, now on the left-hand side of the screen, will move to pull-down menus on the top of the screen. The reason for the change is to increase the area of the program devoted to maps.

Here are some proposed screen shots of the new look from Search Engine Land:

I will be looking for the changes and make comments on the new interface as soon as it is available.
