Discussion becomes Talk on the FamilySearch Research Wiki

OK, for those of you who are not deeply into the FamilySearch Research Wiki, you can zone out. But for those of us into the program, today marks a monumental day of rejoicing. The so-called "Discussion Pages" have finally been changed to the more consistently called "Talk Pages."

If you have read this far and you are more than mildly acquainted with the Research Wiki, you might just be aware that every page in the Research Wiki has an accompanying page for discussion about the content of the main page. In fact, every page in the Research Wiki, just as in other wikis, has a bundle of associated pages. As it was set up originally back in 2008, the Research Wiki used two different names for this discussion page; Discussion and Talk. We have never quite understood where the idea came from to call these pages "Discussion Pages" because the general wiki world calls them "Talk Pages." This issue has been a source of confusion for those working on the Research Wiki since the beginning.

Now, today, thanks to Janell Vasquez, this issue has finally been resolved. It may seem like a small change, but it is really a big deal because now the identity of these pages will be consistent, not only in the Research Wiki, but also with the larger wiki world on the Internet.
