DC Thomson Family History and FamilySearch.org Announce New Partnership

DC Thompson Family History the owner of findmypast.com and Genes Reunited, has announced a major new partnership with US-based FamilySearch.org. This new partnership will give family history enthusiasts access to billions of records online and new technology to collaboratively research their family roots. Since 1 October 2013, DC Thomson Family History is the new name for brightsolid online publishing. This rename has no impact or consequence to the trading or operations of brightsolid online technology.

The project is described as follows:
DC Thomson Family History, formerly known as brightsolid online publishing, is collaborating with FamilySearch, to deliver a wide range of projects including digital preservation, records search, technological development and the means to allow family historians to share their discoveries. These records will be delivered through FindMyPast.com, a product of DC Thompson 
The new collections being shared with FamilySearch are described as follows:
Available today are collections including births, marriages and deaths covering America, England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Around 600 additional collections under this partnership will be announced as they are made available. In general, all of the new records from FamilySearch that will be accessible from within FindMyPast.com will continue to be available online at FamilySearch.org.
