My Family History Toolbox 2 -- an update

Paul Larsen's book, My Family History Toolbox, has been around for quite a while. Not too long ago, Paul sent me a copy of the Second Edition (Larsen, Paul. My Family History Toolbox. [S.l.]: Fresh Mountain Air Pub Ll, 2013). The book has a wide variety of resources and is presented in an informal, friendly way with lots of clip art. If you read my blog regularly (there are a few of you out there), you know that I periodically poke fun at genealogists who take themselves too seriously. I am afraid that the serious genealogists (or those that consider themselves serious) will pass up this book as beneath their consideration. That would be a mistake.

Paul's book is a good overview of all of the kinds of things genealogists at all levels need to know and many of us do not. The book is heavy on technology but in a non-threatening way. Here is a sample of what you will find in the book from the Jump-Start Chart:

You can click on the image to see it full size. From my perspective, I think the book is a good introduction to the importance of using up-to-date technology in our genealogical research. If you think it is time you get a little more information about the available technology, then you might take a look at Paul's updated book.

The book is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
