I assume his direct male DNA haplotype is R-M269. Minerva Tanner (1800-1888), wife of Jeremiah Tuttle Jr. (1794-1872) is my 5th great grandmother. The IOUS has so much additional data to it that I hope no one will attempt it, though of course you can't guarantee anything. I do have a Watch on to catch any merges if needed. Another option is to still use the IOUS but unattach all of the wrong people and sources from it, I have tried that as well and that also works. <br />I still think that it's more important to have it accurate sooner so that confusion and extra effort are avoided. It's impossible to say how long it will be until the IOUS problem will be corrected, in the meantime I think the tree needs to be as accurate as possible. Just the way I see it. I hope all your good work is not lost in the merger process. There are bound to be mistakes in combining so much information. I have also seen that often people see the errors and want to fix them, but they don't have sufficient research experience to do so effectively. If someone has the correct information and documents, they should certainly correct the information. I have also found that I can often work around the IOUS ancestors as well. I simply make a new individual with the correct information, attach the correct documents and family members, and unattach the IOUS from the main tree. Then I merge in applicable merges that fit so that the ordinances show up as done. The IOUS can then just remain out there unattached to the correct people and not do much damage. I have had to do an extra ordinance or two, but so much duplication has occurred in the past and so much misguided effort and extra ordinances will be avoided by having the information showing up correctly that I see it as a small effort to pay. Anyway, just my two cents.Jeniannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15658130657967745197noreply@blogger.com
