Synchronization between nFS and Family Tree will continue for some time, hopefully not until the end of 2014, but there are reasons why this must continue. As long as synchronization is in place, merges of IOUSs will still not be permitted.Bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1527613590529958801.post-45077912444678728002013-11-08T08:02:10.682-07:002013-11-08T08:02:10.682-07:00That is a difficult issue to address. Some subscribe to the philosophy of "as long as the work is done, what does it matter what the date is?" I believe having the original date is more important than simply having any date. any thoughts?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1527613590529958801.post-80446945074645982222013-11-07T22:57:30.270-07:002013-11-07T22:57:30.270-07:00I can't speculate on what they are thinking, b...I can't speculate on what they are thinking, but I have heard both reasons expressed by people who are trying to do the work over. I am wondering if leaving it online will prevent the merge function from working? It is just a question. That is, even though John Doe did all his genealogy back to Adam and did their temple work, perhaps Jane Doe, John Doe's daughter, thinks that she also has to do all of her ancestor's temple work, and that is why they keep trying to duplicate the ordinances.

It may be a little far fetched, but I am sure that someone somewhere thinks that they have to duplicate the work even though somebody else has already done it.

Also I wonder if people think that they have to have the ordinances done again because we are moving to a new system. So they think, "The work has been done previously, but we have a new system now and now that I am putting the people into the new system they need to have their work done again so that they can properly be in the system."Quantumleap42https://www.blogger.com/profile/16711817313734546305noreply@blogger.com
