I love how the Internet has made research easier, but I also appreciate what a trip to the library or city hall can do for me as well. I've found lots of ancestors online. Lots. Do I believe everything I find on the Inernet? Heavens no. I use the Internet to jump-start my research. I then try to verify everything if I can. I've also found pleny of errors in original documents and records as well. I try to verify those too. I hate to say it, but my standard modus operandi is don't believe anything. Learning how to put the pieces of the puzzle together takes time and experience.
