And I ...I do a variation on "splogging." And I know it is a copyright violation.

It is valuable especially for articles from blogs/websites where they do not keep a permanent copy of their original article, often with interesting historical or other subject matter content, on line for more than a few months. I always make a link to the original article.

I purposely have refused advertising to let the authors know that I am not making money off of their work.

When the article comes from tiny blogs, unless it is particularly relevant to the subject of my small blog (100 readers per day) covering a small geographic area, I might just use "fair use", especially to avoid stealing readers from friends.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08332138030182107580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1527613590529958801.post-76881121480185941522011-10-24T00:12:58.728-07:002011-10-24T00:12:58.728-07:00So another thing to worry about! I send in complaints about some of them and my blog hasn't been copied yet that I've found.

The only thing you didn't address is RSS news readers. One of those sploggers claimed that he was just being like Google Reader and offering people another way to read the blog posts. Obviously, it's not the same; his site was bogged down in ads.

I've seen plenty of blogs that don't have a link to their RSS feed, but the feed still works.

We allow people to read our blogs in the RSS readers, but can you think of a way to explain to someone that a real RSS reader is different than a splog that claims to be one?Banai Lynn Feldsteinhttp://idogenealogy.com/blog/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1527613590529958801.post-18119854536258055522011-10-23T10:00:12.804-07:002011-10-23T10:00:12.804-07:00As to your last paragraph: Me, too! It is also why I have a rather detailed and draconian copyright statement on my blogs.
