While processing the Overson Negatives from my Great-grandmother, Margaret Godfrey Jarvis Overson, I found this old photo of the gravemarker for my Great-great-great-grandfather Jens Andreas Ovesen b. 1816 d. 1905. He is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Ephraim, Sanpete, Utah. I looked in the Utah Cemeteries database, FindAGrave.com and BillionGraves.com and none of them have a listing for this marker. I guess I have a side trip to take in Utah one of these trips in the next few months. I will report on what I am able to find since this photo was taken at least 75 years ago.
I visited the cemetery a number of years ago and couldn't find it, but there is a picture in Findagrave. It's cataloged under Jens A Overson:

Not to discourage a trip to Ephraim -- it's a nice drive.
We would still go there to make sure it is in BillionGraves.com so there will be the GPS coordinates to the marker.
DeleteIt looks like it is made out of sandstone so I don't know how well it would hold up over the years. It may have been worn away depending on the type of sandstone. If it got worn away then someone may have removed it.
