Bits and Pieces from FamilySearch 1 September 2013

I have discovered that I am getting email notifications of blog posts from FamilySearch that are not appearing on the main FamilySearch.org Blog site. It appears that there are more articles being written and posted than those that show up. I haven't figured this out yet, but the number of posts seems to be increasing. I did a post on the 24th of August, 2013 with a short summary of the past week's FamilySearch Blog posts, but here it is another week and it looks like there are 11 additional blog posts in the last week from the emails I have, but it looks like only seven of them show up on the FamilySearch Blog.

So here is my list of articles:

Nathan discusses duplicates in the FamilySearch.org Family Tree.

52 Questions in 52 Weeks by Steve Anderson
Steve gives suggestions of 52 questions to help compile a descriptive story of one's life.

Obviously aimed at members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but good to know information and may be an incentive to some to become Spanish language indexers.

Community Corner: Indexers Share Their Stories by Jennifer Anderson
I think I have failed to emphasize the importance of compiling indexes to the millions of records going into the FamilySearch.org Historical Record Collections, but here is a good reminder.

The Key to Unlocking Their Stories by Jennifer Anderson
Another motivating article about indexing and the need for arbitrators.

Think Your Indexing Work Is Lost? Think Again! by Katie Gale

More explanations about the mechanics of Indexing. Good things to know.

Well that wraps up another week of FamilySearch.org blog posts. Once I figure out why I am getting more notices than are showing on the site, I will leave it up to you to subscribe to the new posts.
