The interface is a fairly substantial change from that of the current FamilySearch.org startup page. The older site has some explanations and references to the resources available but the newly proposed Beta site eliminates all of the references to news, events, the Family History Library or Personal Ancestral File software in favor of a less cluttered cleaner look. The Beta site is not yet fully functional. Many of the links are not fully operational and some of the information is lacking. For example, the whole right part of the startup screen is entitled "What's New." Clicking on this area takes you to a page entitled "Why you'll love FamilySearch." However, there is really nothing on the page about any new developments or features. There is a link entitled "Take our new search out for a spin." But clicking on this link merely takes you back to the startup page. This is not a fault in the new website, it is a sign that the site is still under development.
There is a feature article in the Ensign Magazine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the new Beta website. The article indicates that the Beta site will replace FamilySearch.org later this year and will combine these separate sites:
- • Family Tree and temple preparation features currently available on new.familysearch.org
- • Search capabilities currently available on pilot.familysearch.org
- • FamilySearch Indexing functions currently available on indexing.familysearch.org
- • User forums currently available on forums.familysearch.org
- • Family History Library Catalog and other information
- • Family History blogs
- • Wiki pages that provide research help and guidance currently available on wiki.familysearch.org

Okay so how did your blog post on Familysearch.org end up on a facebook page called familysearch.org I am trying to figure out the dynamics here.
