Dear James, How would I go about finding out if a person was baptized as a child in the church records around the 1950's? How would I access a form E?
ReplyDeletePrivacy rules would prevent you from finding that information unless the person had already died. If they died some time ago, it is likely they will show up in the FamilySearch Family Tree with the ordinances completed. Otherwise, I suggest calling the Church and asking for help from Church membership.
DeleteI am looking at a man who died at Jefferson Barracks in January of 1835. Source:

Would there be any other military records for this time frame? I asked the NARA for a pension, but they couldn't find one. I found the enlistment records at Ancestry but there's no mention of any family. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
If he died at Jefferson Barracks was he buried in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. If so, there will likely be burial records. See also Jefferson Barracks -- St. Louis Public Library owns the portion of the NARA microfilm set, Returns From U.S. Military Posts, 1800-1916, that includes Jefferson Barracks. Textual records of this fort, 1827-1909, including registers, reports, and correspondence, are in the National Archives and are described in Records of United States Army, Continental Commands, 1821-1920, under the section entitled Records of Posts, 1820-1940 (Record Group 393.7).https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Missouri_Military_Records#Introduction.
